Our authors and managers, Janusz Kabata and Bohdan Tillack co-authored another article which was published in the Polish magazine for GPs „Lekarz POZ” („A GP”). The article discusses the role of the GP as an entrepreneur. The authors stress that while economics as a science, generally, does not pay much attention to a human being as an entrepreneur and his/her role in the economy, there are important theories defining the criteria of entrepreneurship. This is further projected onto the system of primary medical care in Poland and claims that GPs running their own offices are not only physicians but also entrepreneurs and they are exposed to all market risks and opportunities. As a result, the offices of GPs are companies/enterprises and have their intrinsic value and therefore GPs should not rule out the activities aimed at maintaining or increasing this value, such as participation in clinical trials.
